June means but one thing in the petrolheads calendar - Le Mans! Our man Laurie Vaughn went on a tough mission to check out this year's festivities:

There was a real spirit of 'Team Bentley' there - for a start the Bentley owners club had a strong following - there were at least six 1930 Bentleys getting on the ferry with us, and the crowd seemed to adopt them at the race, even though they wanted £35 for a t shirt!

The weather tried its best to ruin the party but apart from some slightly wet tents, it actually made the race better to watch since there was a lot of slip-sliding around - at one point the safety car was lapping faster than the racers since they didn't feel comfortable going that fast!

The rain also meant that there weren't too many entertainers for the camping crowds, however a number of cars did manage to do some donuts. It seemed to be a real TVR reunion - Tuscans were almost as common as Chimaeras and Griffiths, even so they attracted a lot of interest. Another strong showing was the Ultima club/gang. Twelve cars were out for the trip, including two factory fresh Can-Am models, one RHD and the other LHD for sale in the US - this should make someone some money! Other various exotica included GT40s (replicas), Dodge Viper, Ferrari (lots) F40 (one only!), a number of Porsche GT3s, Morgans, Cobras, plus the usual Se7ens strong showing.
